Through the years I have had an avid interest in Erotica in my artwork. Perhaps it was the result of an extremely puritan background growing up and perhaps I use it for shock value. Maybe neither! I simply love the intimacy erotica has. It is a subject matter that artists have dealt with through out history and the artwork possesses a certain sensibility not found in other work. The secrecy and forbidden-ness intrigues me and the gratification in watching peoples’ reaction to erotic work is profound. It brings out our most sacred desires and shares them… it assist us in knowing that we all have some hidden places that seldom get exposed. There is a certain toying and playfulness that I can obtain with erotica that nothing else creates... its pure bliss! I take pleasure in researching and experimenting with the rawness and rough edges of humankind, in order to produce work that has this kind of appealing and powerful impact on the viewer.
