Encaustics offer a lushness of texture, and the luminosity of color unlike any other medium. A mixture of beeswax, pigment, and Dammar Varnish is the formula I use with a heat gun and large hot palette. Working furiously, applying layers and layers of color upon each other, it allows the true essence and meaning of the Captured Energy Series to emerge.
