Meadow’s work is constantly redefining and refining intimacy and emotional relationships between herself, her materials and her visual language. She strives to remain vulnerable and experimental while including a graceful marriage of symbolic and ancient references.
In order to maintain freshness, Meadow works in a vast variety of media as a painter, sculptor, jeweler, printmaker and product designer. She has an MFA in Ceramics and Design from G.W U in Washington, DC; an MFA in Sculpture and Jewelry from U of WS-Madison in Madison, WS and a BFA in Ceramics from MA College of Art, Boston.
Meadow’s extensive background as a college professor assisted her as founder/director of Artplace in NYC, SoHo’s famous artist community, which she ran for thirteen years. As a recent transplant to the Hudson Valley, along with being a fulltime studio artist, she is again teaching. This time, at The Art Center NY, in Red Hook, and Barrett Clay Works in Poughkeepsie.
Her international exhibition history is long and distinguished. Her art can be found in numerous private and public collections including; Smithsonian Institute, and Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, DC, the Science Museum, San Francisco, and DiRosa Collection, in Napa, CA. Her large installation sculptures were shown at the Samuel Dorsky Museum, New Paltz, NY, and galleries and museums in NYC. She recently exhibited in several public outdoor sculpture shows in the Hudson Valley.
