The second subject was Amila Earhart. I chose her for two reasons: one, I was fascinated with her, and two, I was using the piece as a proposal for a Public Works Project Commission—for an airport in Texas somewhere. I did not get the commission, and the plans still lie dormant in my big map storage flat files drawers!
